Alpha

Small jobs.
Within reach.

A compact grid of everyday utilities in your menu bar. Keep a timer close, pick a color, work with text or choose where a link opens.

Alpha 0.4.0 · Apple Silicon · macOS 15.0+

Your tools.
Your arrangement.

Open the menu-bar grid, then choose a tool to reveal its controls beside it.

Keep favorites first and hide the tools you do not need. Timers and Keep Awake continue while you move between tools or close the popover. Opening a card does not start an action.

Quicktools can also open installed Hodani Capture, Notes and Pulse. These shortcuts are available when the matching app is installed.

Inside Quicktools.

A little more awake.

Keep Awake prevents idle system sleep for 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes. Stop it whenever you are done. The display may still sleep; closing the lid keeps normal macOS behavior.

Make time visible.

Set a timer from 1 to 240 minutes, or choose a 25-minute Pomodoro focus and a 5- or 15-minute break. Pause, resume or cancel. A menu-bar countdown and optional live capsule keep the session within reach, with completion controls and a fallback for displays without a notch.

An alarm for one moment.

Save a one-time dated alarm. Native notifications can deliver while Quicktools is closed, and the app shows missed alarms when you return. Cancel or dismiss explicitly. Up to 20 pending or unacknowledged alarms are retained.

Keep the color.

Pick a color from your screen, enter a HEX value, copy HEX or RGB, and save up to 20 favorites. Values use sRGB; wide-gamut colors may be clamped.

Give text a quick pass.

Paste explicitly, change case, trim line edges or tidy horizontal spacing while keeping paragraphs. Copy plain text when it is ready. Text stays in session memory, with a 200,000-character processing limit.

A QR code, made locally.

Generate a QR code and copy or save a PNG. Read a code from an image you choose or paste. Decoded content stays selectable text until you decide what to do with it; links never open automatically.

A cleaner link.

Paste a URL to preview and remove known tracking parameters before you copy or open it. Signed and authenticated queries are preserved conservatively. Quicktools never watches your clipboard in the background.

Choose the browser.

Open an HTTP or HTTPS link in an installed Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Brave or Edge. Choose a discovered Chrome profile using its name. Browser discovery does not change your default browser or intercept links system-wide.

Before you begin.

What you’ll need
Apple Silicon · macOS 15.0 or later. Native notification permission is needed for system notifications. Browser choices depend on installed browsers and available Chrome profile metadata.
Time-tool boundaries
Timer and Pomodoro sessions are not restored after quitting, and phases advance manually. Timers do not keep the Mac awake unless you start Keep Awake separately. Saved alarms do not promise to wake a sleeping or powered-off Mac. Focus and macOS notification settings control system notification delivery; the capsule provides an in-app completion view while Quicktools is running.
Other boundaries
Quicktools is an Alpha release; features and compatibility may be incomplete. QR input is limited to 2,000 UTF-8 bytes; image decoding accepts PNG/TIFF paste or selected images up to 30 MB and 40 megapixels. No camera scanning, clipboard history, recurring alarms or automatic Pomodoro cycling is included.
Privacy & connections
Colors, text, QR processing and saved alarms stay on your Mac. Opening a link contacts the destination in the browser you choose. Browser discovery reads profile names and directories, not history, cookies or credentials. Use the footer of Quicktools customization for Send feedback, Report a bug and privacy controls. Usage analytics and approximate city information can be disabled separately; explicit reports remain your choice.
